Avocado Toast Recipe

Updated May 2025

If you’re tired of the same old plain toast with butter, it might be time to switch things up. One of my favorite ways to do that? Avocado toast. It’s simple, flavorful, nutrient-rich—and honestly, it just feels good to eat.

Avocado is the fruit of the avocado tree, and it brings more to the table than just good taste. It’s packed with fiber to support digestion, healthy fats that fuel your brain, and antioxidants that support overall wellness. It’s also incredibly versatile, which makes it easy to make it your own.

Why I Love This Recipe

This is one of the easiest, most satisfying recipes I come back to again and again. It’s:

  • Affordable

  • Accessible

  • Easy to learn

  • And way more filling than a slice of toast with butter

Honestly, it’s one of those small upgrades that can make a big difference in your morning.

A Quick Note Before You Start

When you first look at the steps written out, it might seem like a lot. Don’t worry—it becomes second nature after a time or two. You’re also more than welcome to customize the seasoning. The herbs and spices I suggest are just a starting point. Trust your taste buds!

    • A squeeze of lemon or lime juice

  • That’s it! You’ve just made a meal that’s simple, nourishing, and supportive of your physical and mental energy.

Small Rituals That Support Mental Wellness

Recipes like this are part of how I support my own emotional well-being—and they’re something I encourage my clients to explore, too. As a therapist who works holistically, I believe mental health includes how we fuel ourselves, how we slow down, and how we care for the small moments of our day—like breakfast.
