This training introduces therapists to holistic integrative approaches for treating co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Participants will explore evidence-based complementary therapies rooted in Eastern and Western traditions, learn how these modalities support whole-person healing, and gain practical skills to enhance client autonomy in recovery.
Objectives:
Identify at least three holistic integrative treatment modalities used in supporting clients in recovery.
Explain the impact of integrative approaches on the brain, body, and environment, and their significance in the recovery process.
Apply practical tools and strategies to support client autonomy and self-regulation during recovery.
Describe and explain the limitations and ethical considerations of using holistic strategies that are not evidence-based, and give examples of how these methods may be used as a complementary supports in recovery.
