Grilled Cheese Naan
Grilled Cheese Naan
Naan is a flat bread that has a key role in Indian cuisine. It has the appearance similar to Pita Bread, but naan appears to be more moist and sponge like.
Not too long ago, I purchased a pack of mini Naan and was thinking of a meal I could incorporate this beautiful flat bread. Then I thought, I haven’t had a grilled cheese “sammich” in a while…How, can I incorporate this into my life and include some healthier ingredients? So I made it! But I didn’t have a picture and therefore was challenged by statements such as, “No picture or it didn’t happen!”
Well, I took the challenge on and decided, not only will I take a picture, but I’ll share with my Solutioners just how I made this delightfully, flavorful meal.
Best of all, this recipe includes 5 ingredients. It’s so…so… so simple and quick!
Here is what you need:
Ingredients
1 tsp of Ghee/ unsalted butter
1 mini naan
1/8 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded or Dairy free alternative
1/4th tomato, sliced
1/4th Avocado, sliced

Directions:
Preheat skillet over low to medium heat.
Place ghee in the skillet and allow the ghee to melt.
Meanwhile, slice tomato and avocado- set aside
Add mini naan to skillet surface, allow naan to cook until it is slightly golden on one side
Turn over the naan and allow the other side to cook.
While doing the above, on 1/2 of the naan place shredded cheese, sliced tomato, and slice avocado slices..
Fold naan in half (like a taco) using a spatula- slightly heating on both sides, until the cheese is melted.
Tips:
Use non-dairy cheese alternatives
Add other vegetable combinations for different experiences and taste.
When folded into shape of a taco, place a lid over the sandwich to melt the cheese thoroughly.
Make sure to be present- the naan is pre-cooked in the package so browning each side can occur quickly.
